The Nine Week Blog Challenge 9: The Continuum ... and the Charity

Good afternoon,

According to Princeton.edu's wordnetweb, continuum is defined as "a continuous nonspatial whole or extent or succession in which no part or portion is distinct or distinguishable from adjacent parts."

I have to admit, I thought that the last chapter of Ariel's book, Music Success in Nine Weeks would be about how to continue with the process of what was presented in the first eight chapters. However, I was pleasantly surprised by her challenge to create a continuous program, assuming of course, that we would obviously continue to follow through with the steps already learned. In other words, she showed us how to apply everything we learned.

And, great ideas she has, like fan clubs, mug of the month, private parties. Oh, I love the one about inviting special guests to an intimate acoustic set where they can listen to new material and provide feedback, etc. for an upcoming album. My creative juices have only just begun to flow!

I have to say, the idea that was already floating in my head, and I was thrilled to see it make it to Ariel's list, was the charity idea.

I have always said that music is a gift to be shared and here is an opportunity to not only share the music but the profits from the music with a group that needs it.

I just met with a friend a week or so ago and we were discussing ideas of having a charity event, but need to find the charity!

Then, this morning, I realize that there are many groups out there that have the same desire as I do, but specialize in organizing the charity events and then search for musicians and performers. Sounds like a match made in heaven to me!

So, for my funnel challenge that Ariel gave us, I would propose the following:
  • song-a-month club
  • one albums per year
  • private showings in cozy venues with...
  • ...my signature candles as free giveaways
  • Start sharing information on a chosen charity, and the scheduled event benefiting that charity.

And, I would love to include events that showcase other talented people, like Liliana Graham, my wonderful, dear artist friend! She painted the cover for my album, Albumette. Thanks, Liliana!

Now, who has some ideas for charities?
