It Don't Mean A Thing

Hello all,

I was listening to some music and Rosemary Clooney's "It Don't Mean A Thing" came on my iPod. I just had to write about her.

She is one of those voices that I remember hearing as a child. I remember watching her over and over in such movies as "White Christmas" (1954) with Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, and Vera-Ellen, as a small child.

Just hearing her voice brings that sort of comfort that a warm fire and hot chocolate brings when it is blistery cold outside... Ok, "blisteringly" hot outside and a nice cold diet coke works too :)

She has such a beautiful texture to her voice, such a style of her own... Take a listen, for yourself, in the YouTube, below.

Birthday Jazz ... and dogs ...

Ok, all, I enjoy a good YouTube vid, and I love animals, but I am not generally the type to go looking for those critter vids.

However, hey, it's my birthday and I was in the mood for some birthday jazz. I started looking for jazz and ended up with the dogs :)

Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered

Hey all,

I have to say that I hadn't experienced as much of the jazzy side of Carly Simon, until recently and fell in love with her rendition of "Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered."

The vid, below, shows her in all her beauty, in not only the jazzy interpretation of the song, but the stage presence and interaction with the audience.

Ok, where are those gloves... let's go....

Live or Canned?

This week we were working with the tracks recorded @ DM2 Studios - our "Albumette Project." There is no comparison to the non-live counterparts! Hey, synthesized sound is great. It is useful, but the human touch via a live session just cannot be replicated.

Live music, recorded creatively, inspires what is best in us, as musicians. It shares art and inspires the sharing of art.

Can't wait to share it with you when Albumette is finished (first part of 2010). To check out a list of the awesome musicians that I am referring to, visit www.facebook.com/deborahinfo. These guys rock!
